Amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid, the club reportedly still considers the Brazilian winger as part of their future plans. Over the last 12 months, Vinícius has experienced a series of complicated situations in the Spanish capital.
Multiple reports have linked the 25-year-old with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, citing varying reasons. Earlier reports suggested that the former Flamengo man was demanding a renewal bonus to match or surpass Kylian Mbappe’s salary, but Los Blancos were unwilling to accept his financial demands, leading to a standoff between both parties.
Vinicius’ future at Madrid has been further shrouded in uncertainty after Xabi Alonso took over the reins at the club. It is believed that there is a tense relationship between the pair, with reports attributing it to reduced playing time for Vinicius. In fact, a report from Spain in October claimed Vinicius had decided to leave Real Madrid next summer if Alonso remains in charge.
However, in the latest development, as per journalist Arancha Rodríguez, Real Madrid still sees Vinicius as a player for the long-term future and intends to extend his contract in 2026. The Brazilian’s contract will expire in 2027, and Los Blancos are hoping that renewal talks will resume next year.
So far this season, Vinicius has scored five goals and provided eight assists for Los Blancos in 24 appearances across competitions.
Vinicius Junior doubts contract renewal with Real Madrid, feels fans no longer support him – Reports
According to El Chiringuito TV, Vinicius has doubts about signing a contract extension with Real Madrid, as he feels a part of the club’s fans no longer support him.
Vinicius has endured a demoralizing 2025-26 campaign so far, which reached a crescendo after he was booed by the Santiago Bernabeu crowd during Madrid’s LaLiga match against Sevilla last Saturday.
In response to the unreceptive gesture, he changed his Instagram profile picture, replacing an image that had previously shown him holding a Real Madrid jersey with an image of himself in the Brazil national team jersey. He then posted a cryptic message as he shared photos from the match and captioned it with three dots.
Since moving to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2018, Vini has often been targeted by Los Blancos faithful and rival fans. While talks over a new deal have been at a deadlock, it will be interesting to see how the two parties will move forward on the matter in the weeks to come.
