More information is emerging about why the Hard Knocks series on UNC was canceled, and Jordan Hudson is catching the blame for it.
The HBO series was intended to focus on Bill Belichick's efforts to build up the UNC football program during the 2025 season.
But days before the series was set to be announced, his 24-year-old girlfriend, Hudson, "demanded she be granted content approval and partial ownership of the show, according to a person familiar with the deal who spoke in the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized by producers to speak to a reporter," per the "New York Times."
So NFL Films pulled the plug on the whole thing.
A source told the outlet that the series' producers later learned that Hudson was also in negotiations with a second production company, EverWonder, to make a similar series. However, the production company refused to comment on the issue.

— Chad Graff (@ChadGraff) May 20, 2025Despite these claims, Belichick said that the Hard Knocks series just wasn't a fit for UNC.
In an interview with the "Pivot Podcast," Belichick said, "The 'Hard Knocks' thing for the record, 'Hard Knocks' is a training camp, and we're not a training camp," Belichick said. "That's not what we are, the drama of training camp, and who's going to get cut and all that. We’re a season, and they don’t want that."
He continued, "There’s film issues, too. But forget about the film issues. Just say you could straighten all those out. The Hard Knocks just didn’t fit for us. That’s the bottom line.”
Are Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson engaged?

Belichick's girlfriend can't seem to stay out of the headlines. Ever since she began dating the 73-year-old head UNC Football coach, her name has gone viral - mostly due to their 49-year age gap.
Hudson sparked controversy for asserting herself during Belichick's "CBS Sunday Morning" interview on April 27.
When asked how he met the former Bridgewater State University Cheerleader, Hudson, sitting off to the side of the cameras, told the reporter that Belichick wouldn't be answering the question.
There was also Hudson's odd behavior at the April 12 UNC "Practice Like a Pro" event in Chapel Hill where she was criticized for parading up and down the sidelines as if she were on staff.
Despite all of the drama surrounding the relationship, some sources are reporting that the couple has gotten engaged.
According to the "New York Times," Hudson has "told at least one person" that she is engaged to Belichick.
The couple is yet to confirm the news.
Belichick met Hudson on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021.
