The Atlanta Hawks are making a roster change ahead of their New Year’s Eve matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Hawks have added RayJ Dennis to the roster to take up one of their two-way slots, allowing an easy gateway to the NBA G League to play for the College Park Skyhawks.

The team cut ties with Eli Ndiaye in order to make room for Dennis.

Dennis last played for the Los Angeles Clippers. Earlier this month, he was signed by the Clippers on a two-way deal, which helped him play for the main roster and the G League squad in San Diego.

With the Clippers, Dennis played in just one game. He checked in for four minutes and logged two rebounds.

Before his run with the Clippers, Dennis had a stint with the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers were the first NBA organization have him suit up. As a rookie, Dennis appeared in 11 games for the Pacers. He saw the court for six minutes per game, averaging 2.7 points per game.

He started the 2025-2026 season with the Pacers, making 13 appearances. Dennis shot 30 percent from the field, putting up 4.9 points per game, and dishing out 2.0 assists per game.

Before landing in the NBA, Dennis had runs with three different college teams. He started his NCAA career at Boise State. He ended up in Toledo from 2021 to 2023, before finishing at Baylor.

During his lone season at Baylor, Dennis produced 13.6 points and 6.7 assists per game, while shooting 47 percent from the field. He went undrafted in 2024. Although Dennis signed a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards, he was cut before the start of the 2024-2025 season.

The Hawks now become his third NBA organization.
