The new Guts and Blackpowder London update introduced the titular city as a playable map, where you can join friends in a two-part adventure. London is the first half of this two-part adventure, with Westminster serving as the second part. This map takes you through a storyline that has them cross the River Thames and reach Westminster.

London is part of Objective Mode, the game’s version of a story campaign. So, you will be guided from one objective to the next as you follow a preset storyline and take on various enemies. This guide includes all the info you need to reach the end of the map without any trouble.

Objective and rewards

The main objective of the London campaign is to reach Westminster. There is a clear cut-off point at Westminster Bridge, which is where the London campaign ends, and you receive the mission clear rewards. Upon completing the map, you will receive the following items as prizes:

  • 125 Francs on Normal mode; 80 Francs upon death and subsequent respawn.
  • 150 Francs on Hardcore mode; 100 Francs upon death and subsequent respawn.

Recommended Classes

As is the case for most Objective Mode campaigns, London requires you to work with other players to fulfill the objective. Teamwork is a crucial element of succeeding in this map, especially considering the tight battlegrounds and the highly aggressive zombie horde. With that in mind, the best Classes for this map are Sapper, Infantry, and Chaplain.

Sapper and Chaplain are the support Classes, while Infantry serves as the primary damage dealer. Sapper can help defend against the walking dead by building fortifications, effectively blocking off any approaching undead. Chaplain, on the other hand, is the safety net of the squad, curing infections and dealing AoE stuns to almost all enemy types.

Infantry can take down foes at long range, which is when Chaplain can defend them with stuns and AoE damage. This makes the three Classes highly synergistic, particularly for London.

Reaching the end of the London campaign

Follow the steps below for a succinct walkthrough of the Guts and Blackpowder London campaign:

  • Once the stage starts, your first objective is to exit the cathedral from the upper balcony.
  • Follow the path ahead and use the scaffolding to make your way through the church.
  • When you encounter a gap too large to jump across, use a wooden beam to create a makeshift bridge.
  • Enter the attic and go up the stairs. This is where you will enter combat. Defeat everything in your way to reach the front gates of the church.
  • Drag bodies away from the gate to open it and complete the first objective.
  • Head over to the bookstore, where you will spot a high ladder that leads to the skylight.
  • Stack 10 crates found in the bookstore’s vicinity to reach the high ladder and enter the bookstore through the skylight.
  • Go downstairs and head into an alley to find a military NPC, who gives you a target: two riflemen atop the church.
  • Dodge their gunfire and make your way in their direction. Use the environment to shield yourself from the hail of bullets and reach the gates to the church.
  • A few barricades keeping the undead from entering the church can be broken, allowing the zombies to overrun the riflemen. Use your long-range weaponry to accomplish this.
  • Head through an alleyway and into a street to reach a printing house, where you can relax for a little while. Dead players may respawn here.
  • Next, go in the direction of the burning courthouse and reach the underground pub. The pub shares a wall with a toy house; this wall was broken prior to your arrival. Go through the passage and find a key in the drawers.
  • Head upstairs, use the key, and exit the toy store. You will then be required to go to the sewers.
  • Climb a ladder from the sewers and get to the vat house above, where you’ll encounter an engineer.
  • Follow the engineer’s instructions and destroy the vats filled with liquid to flood the house. A little while later, the flood will break open the doors, allowing you to escape the vat house.

This marks the end of the London campaign in Guts and Blackpowder. The adventure will conclude in the Westminster map, the second half of the campaign.
