Guardians' Jose Ramirez joins Tris Speaker, Nap Lajoie in baseball history

Jose Ramirez continues to cement himself as one of the best players in Cleveland baseball history.

On Saturday night, he did it with a double. It was the 400th of his career.

The only two players in franchise history to hit 400 doubles before Ramirez were the legendary Tris Speaker (486) and Nap Lajoie.

Afterward, Ramirez had a funny moment with reporters in which he wanted to know which Cleveland player had ended up with 500 doubles.

No one, he was told.

And then he shared he'd love to be the first:

Ramirez signed a contract extension before the season that has him set up to be with the Guardians the rest of his career.

Given the rate at which he hits doubles, that should make getting to 500 a relatively straightforward task, as long as he stays healthy.

When all is said and done, Ramirez might go down as the greatest hitter ever to play for Cleveland.
