Grow a Garden, from Roblox to big screen: All Grow a Garden movie details

Grow a Garden, the popular gardening simulator on Roblox, will be adapted for the big screen. Helmed by Story Kitchen, a production company of Sonic the Hedgehog fame, the movie will reportedly be made in collaboration with the creators of the Roblox title. Currently, details of the narrative, casting, and release schedule are not known.

The decision to adapt Grow a Garden into a movie has come less than a year after the game’s release. As of this writing, the farming experience has accrued over 33.3 billion visits, with active user count routinely being over 200,000.

The Grow a Garden movie was announced on November 5, 2025, by Story Kitchen co-founders Dmitri M. Johnson and Michael Lawrence Goldberg. Accompanying the announcement were brief details about the overall tone and target audience of the film. Per the Story Kitchen heads, the movie aims to be an uplifting, whimsical tale that will appeal to audiences of all ages.

While talking to Deadline, Dmitri M. Johnson and Michael Lawrence Goldberg stated the following regarding the movie adaptation:

Attached to the project so far are Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, Timothy I. Stevenson, and Elena Sandoval from Story Kitchen, serving as producers. Joining them as co-producers are Jeremy Bolt from JB Pictures, and John Gaudiosi and John Benyamine from Moonrock.

The film has entered pre-production in collaboration with Think Influence, a firm partnered with the creators of the Roblox farming simulator. Currently, the details of the project’s plot have not been revealed, but are expected to be announced in the near future.
