Grow a Garden Arctic Mutation guide

Grow a Garden's recent Christmas update added a bunch of new mutations to the game, allowing players to profit even more from their crops and fruits. Among them is the rare Arctic mutation. Similar to Ornamented or Snowy, this is a holiday-themed mutation and a limited-time one at that.

How to get the Arctic mutation in Grow a Garden

The Arctic Mutation is bestowed upon a plant via the Penguin pet. This limited-time pet was available during the Christmas Harvest event in December 2025, which added several new pets to the popular Roblox game. The Penguin is a Mythical animal whose description reads as follows:

• Belly Slide: Every 12:07-5:00m, turns you into a belly sliding penguin for 29.7-60s! Also belly slides to 3-12 random fruit in your garden and applies the Arctic mutation!

The Penguin could be purchased via Santa's shop during the Christmas event, which has expired now, making the Penguin no longer obtainable. For now, this is the only way to get the mutation in the game, so if players missed out on it or do not have a Penguin, they are out of luck for the time being.

Those who own the pet get the bonus of being temporarily turned into a Penguin as well, while the Penguin is active in the garden, making it one of the few pets in the game capable of causing player transformation. With the player transformed, they can slide around at fast speeds, which is great for moving around the map.
