A major WWE Superstar has called out Santa today on social media. The veteran has been on a losing streak as of late on WWE SmackDown.
The Miz took to social media today to boast about being in the main event of WrestleMania in the past. He also bragged about his success as a "Straight-to-DVD Christmas icon" and called out Santa Claus in his message.
"Main-evented WrestleMania? ✔️Hosted TV shows? ✔️ Straight-to-DVD Christmas icon? ✔️✔️ Your move, Santa. 🎄😂," he wrote. The Miz defeated John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 27 to retain the WWE Championship after The Rock interfered in the match. The A-Lister wanted to be a part of John Cena's retirement tour but never got to have another match against the legend. Gunther defeated John Cena via submission in his retirement match last weekend at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Former WWE star comments on being The Miz's "rookie" in NXT
Daniel Bryan, now known as Bryan Danielson in AEW, shared his thoughts on being The Miz's rookie in NXT.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on the Insight Podcast, Danielson stated that they both had the same idea on how to present their dynamic on WWE television. The former AEW World Champion noted that he couldn't learn how to wrestle from the 45-year-old but could learn how to be a superstar.
"I tried to look as generic as possible with the idea, and me and Miz were collaborating on this stuff. Of some ideas, Miz was great about pitching ideas to the writers and all that kind of stuff about all these things of, okay, I can’t learn wrestling from Miz, but he’s going to teach me to be a Superstar, and me being frustrated like, ‘That’s not important. The only thing that’s important is the wrestling.’ That kind of thing that people think that I actually think, or that people think he would actually think, this could be a really good TV dynamic, and we both thought that, and then none of it ever happened. So then I just looked like a nerd for no reason. Not to say that I’m not a nerd. I’m just saying that I went out of my way to look less.” [H/T Chris Van Vliet]The Miz takes aim at Bryan Danielson: “I’ve had people tell me that I have a safe way of wrestling. But that person is no longer here anymore, so we don’t need to talk about him.”
It will be fascinating to see what WWE has planned for The Miz in the weeks ahead on SmackDown.
