Jon Moxley faced Kyle Fletcher at AEW Worlds End last month in the Continental Classic semi-final. The two stars delivered an impactful performance, with Moxley managing to secure a historic win. It led The Purveyor of Violence to enter the finals to face Kazuchika Okada and become the new Continental Champion.
Mox vs. Fletcher was inarguably one of the best matches of the show. It was the first time the two stars were competing in a singles match in All Elite Wrestling. The match featured epic reversals and close falls, keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. While there was a spot where The Protostar fell on his neck, the two quickly returned to the action to deliver an epic showdown to wind up 2025.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kyle Fletcher vs. Jon Moxley at Worlds End 2025 was a five-star showdown. It is a massive achievement for both stars, as only 310 matches have been awarded this big feat in the world of professional wrestling. Besides, it was Moxley's 4th five-star rated match in 2025.
Meanwhile, for The Protostar, it was the seventh showdown that was rated five or more stars in 2025. Before the AEW Worlds End showdown, Kyle Fletcher vs. Mike Bailey from Dynamite Winter Is Coming got this honor.
Tony Khan praised Jon Moxley for his performance in 2025
Jon Moxley delivered an epic run in All Elite Wrestling in 2025. The Purveyor of Violence kicked off the year as the AEW World Champion and delivered an epic title reign that ended at All In: Texas. He then worked in a heated feud with Darby Allin and wound up his year as the Continental Champion.
Speaking with The Takedown with SI, Tony Khan revealed that Moxley started this year with a few injuries. However, he never took a off from the in-ring competition, and eventually got better while performing. As per the AEW President, it was a marvel.
"Jon was pretty hurt at the start of the year. He was banged up, and he worked his way back in without ever taking time off. He's been here all year, and he actually got healthier wrestling every week. The man's a marvel," said Khan. With that said, it will be interesting to see how things will unfold for Jon Moxley in 2026 from here on out.
