The Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs locked horns in a blockbuster regular-season game at the Frost Bank Center on Wednesday. The Warriors entered the game with a 6-6 record, sitting in ninth place in the Western Conference standings. The Spurs arrived with an 8-2 record, occupying second place in the West.

The Warriors moved Jonathan Kuminga to the bench and shifted to a new starting lineup. Will Richard joined Steph Curry, Moses Moody, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green in the lineup. Meanwhile, the Spurs stuck to the lineup of Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, Devin Vassell, Harrison Barnes and Stephon Castle.

Draymond Green and the Warriors did a good job on Victor Wembanyama to begin the game. The real problem, however, was their offense as the Spurs deliberately left Draymond and Jimmy Butler open, and the duo couldn’t take advantage of the opportunities.

Wembanyama was superb defensively, while the Spurs' offense was spread around evenly, with all five starters opening their account in the scoring column early. As a result, the hosts dominated the first quarter and took a 28-14 lead into the second.
