Real Madrid have agreed to let star striker Endrick move to Olympique Lyon on loan for the second half of the season, as per reports. The Brazil international is seeking a temporary move away from the Santiago Bernabeu after failing to nail down a place in Xabi Alonso's squad.

Brazilian outlet GE Globo reports (via Madrid Universal) that Real Madrid are close to finalizing terms with Lyon for Endrick to move there on loan. Meetings have been held as the 19-year-old is keen on a move to France, and documents have been exchanged between both clubs with a view to signing the agreement in December.

Endrick has endured a nightmarish few months at the Santiago Bernabeu, having picked up a hamstring injury in the closing months of the 2024-25 season. He rejoined the squad during the FIFA Club World Cup, only to suffer a recurrence of the injury and remain sidelined until September.

Alonso has yet to give the former Palmeiras sensation a chance at the club, with the young striker having played only 11 minutes this season. Next summer's FIFA World Cup would have been a key factor for Endrick in determining his next steps, as he has yet to receive a single invitation under Carlo Ancelotti.

Endrick's deal with Lyon will not include an option to buy, and Real Madrid will retain an option to recall him in the case of injuries to their attacking players while the window remains open. The teenager will get a huge chance to impress in France, seeing as Lyon failed to replace both Alexandre Lacazette and Georges Mikautadze in the summer.

Brazil coach advises Endrick amid lack of opportunities at Real Madrid

Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has advised teenage sensation Endrick to hold concrete talks with Real Madrid over his future. This comes after the young striker has made just one substitute appearance for Los Blancos this season under Xabi Alonso.

Ancelotti spoke with the press about the situation of the young striker, who was again overlooked for the national team this month. He revealed that he has held talks with the youngster and expects him to engage with the club to determine what suits him at this point.

“It’s important for Endrick to play again. I spoke with him at the beginning of the season. He was injured, but now he is fine, he has returned, and he has to think with his entourage about what is best. Talk to the club to see what suits him,” he said (via Managing Madrid).

Ancelotti was in charge of Real Madrid when Endrick joined the club from Palmeiras after he turned 18 in the summer of 2024. The young striker scored seven times in 37 appearances for the club in his debut season but has found minutes very hard to come by this term.
