The New York Giants don't have much to play for down the stretch.
It's just an opportunity to get a look at any players who may have a chance of helping their team, and QB Jaxson Dart, in the future.
That's why they made a waiver claim for a new wide receiver on Thursday. The move came through the league's transaction wire at 4 p.m., with the Giants claiming WR Ryan Miller off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Miller is a 6-foot-2, 25-year old who played his college ball at Furman.
He's been a depth piece for the Bucs for each of the past three seasons.
Miller only got into one game as an undrafted rookie in 2023.
In 2024, Miller played in 11 games and caught 12 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
This season, Miller has played 13 games but has just two catches for 34 yards and a TD.

Miller is also a key special teams player. He had six tackles in 2024 and already has eight tackles and a fumble recovery this season.
The Bucs waived Miller because they've had a whole host of wideouts get healthy in recent weeks and didn't have room for him.
The Giants lost Gunner Olszewski, a special-teamer himself, to injury, and that might be where Miller steps in.
It's unlikely he sees much WR time in a group that also includes a healthy Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins and Jalin Hyatt.
It's still a chance for Miller to make an impression and try to keep his NFL career alive.
