Cam Skattebo is already out of the 2025 season after breaking his foot. Now, he has encountered another health issue - and in the worst time possible.

On Thursday, the New York Giants rookie running back took to Instagram Stories to share an image of what appeared to be an IV bag. He wrote:

"Thanks to Dr. Mark for coming through clutch on Christmas, woke up feelin' crappy and @peakbymd came through to save the day!!"

Before his injury, Skattebo had amassed 410 yards and five touchdowns on 101 carries, as well as 207 yards and two touchdowns on 24 receptions. His playstyle recently drew praise from former Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey, who said in an exclusive interview with Hard Rock Bet:

"Cam's got amazing energy and power. It's so fun to watch him on TV, and you can see how he energizes the whole team. I really appreciate the way he plays, and I’m sure the fans do, too. ... He is an old-school throwback type of player. ... I know everyone is appreciative of how he plays.

He continued:

"It’s awesome to see how big his heart is, and he plays every snap with such courage and excitement. He's another amazing young talent the Giants currently have. I'm sure he'll be healthy pretty soon, so he should be ready to go when next season comes around."

Cam Skattebo discusses off-field activity during injury rehab

Injury has not prevented Cam Skattebo from keeping himself in the public eye, however.

Last month, he was spotted cageside at UFC 322, which was held at Madison Square Garden. Days later, he appeared on an episode of WWE Raw alongside teammates Abdul Carter and Roy Robertson-Harris and comedian Andrew Schulz, even shoving The Judgment Day's JD McDonagh during a scuffle.

And during a virtual appearance on Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson's Amazon Prime Video show Good Sports, Skattebo revealed that he had the support of Giants general manager Joe Schoen:

"The GM is always in your ear about not doing dumb s--t. But they know I am going to be smart about it and make sure I am in the right place to not put myself in a bad situation. ... But it hasn't been too bad."

Besides his on-field exploits, Skattebo can also be found on Twitch with the username "sk4tpack".
