The New York Giants got their guy.
They had to trade back into the first round to do it, picking up the No. 25 overall pick from the Houston Texans.
With that choice, the Giants picked Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart, making him the second quarterback off the board, before Shedeur Sanders.
The full trade terms, per ESPN's Adam Schefter:
Giants receive: No. 25 pick (Jaxson Dart)
Texans receive: No. 34 pick, No. 99 pick, 2026 3rd-round pick
Dart rose up draft boards all offseason to the point that he could be chosen in this spot.
MORE: Why Jaxson Dart is a huge NFL Draft sleeper
Crossers—big part of some NFL offenses, big part of what Ole Miss did.
Dart throws them exceptionally well—and whoever drafts him will want it as a big part of their offense.

Dart has the best possible name for a quarterback with precise deep ball accuracy.
Dart also lands in the perfect situation with the Giants. He could spend a year or even two learning behind Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston before getting to take the reins himself.

It's big to get a QB late in the first round for fifth-year option contract purposes, so this makes sense on a lot of levels for the Giants.
Really, they gave up two third-round picks to get a potential face of the franchise.
Dart may or may not pan out, but it's a very fair price. The Giants need to solve the quarterback position, and this is much more than just a dart throw. It could really work out.
