Ex-Jets QB Aaron Rodgers gets bad news on Steelers future after $180 million update

There's only so much time for the Pittsburgh Steelers to continue waiting for Aaron Rodgers.

Yes, he's the best option available for the Steelers to pursue, but it's important to remember all of the drama that comes along with signing Rodgers. Outside of that, Mike Tomlin and the front office have a job to make everybody in the building happy.

At some point, this is a disservice to the team by waiting for a 41-year-old quarterback.

According to a report from Peter Schrager of ESPN on the "Pat McAfee show," he suggested that there could be another option for the Steelers in the form of Kirk Cousins, a veteran who is now on the Atlanta Falcons without much of a place to play due to Michael Penix Jr.

"I still think Kirk Cousins is a viable trade candidate if Aaron Rodgers doesn't land in Pittsburgh," he said, per Newsweek. "I would keep an eye on that one."

The former New York Jets quarterback, Rodgers, it's tough to get a feel for where things stand for his NFL career.

There were parts of the 2024 campaign when he came back and proved to be a decent quarterback.

He threw for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns, which was much better than Cousins, who was benched after throwing for 3,500 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions.
