Brian Daboll’s record dropped to 11-33 over the last two-and-a-half seasons, a decline since his 2022 Coach of the Year campaign. The Giants have endured another 2-8 start, adding to pressure on a staff still searching for consistency.

A pivotal moment in Sunday’s game was when Daboll opted for a field goal on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line early in the fourth quarter. Younghoe Koo’s kick extended the lead to 20-10. However, a Bears penalty for too many players on the field could've given New York a fresh chance at the goal line.

The decision backfired as Chicago rallied with 14 unanswered points.

New York again faltered late defensively. The Giants have surrendered more fourth-quarter points than any other team this season and finished Sunday’s game with no sacks or takeaways.

Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart exited in the third quarter after showing signs of a concussion. He completed 19 of 29 passes for 242 yards and rushed for two touchdowns. Dart took a hard fall while fighting for extra yards on a scramble and was pulled for evaluation.

"I just say it's unfortunate he got hurt," Daboll told reporters during the postgame presser.

Russell Wilson replaced Dart but failed to move the offense. New York’s final two possessions ended in punts before a last-minute drive stalled on fourth down, sealing the 24-20 loss.

Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams led the decisive drive, evading multiple would-be sacks before sprinting for a 17-yard touchdown to cap the comeback.
