The LA Clippers will be without quite a few key players when they square off against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday. The most significant of the bunch is Kawhi Leonard, who hasn’t suited up in the last three games due to a sprained ankle issue.

The star forward has appeared in six games for the Clippers this season, averaging 24.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. His last appearance came on Nov. 4, when he rolled his ankle on the final possession of the game against the Miami Heat.

An ankle sprain is a tricky injury that typically takes time to recover from, depending on its severity. The expectation is that Leonard will likely miss a few more games before returning.

Rookies Jahmyl Telfort and Yanic Konan Niederhauser will also miss the game due to G-League duties. Both players haven’t seen much of a role this season.

Telfort has played in three games. Niederhauser has suited up for five games, averaging 4.4 minutes, 3.8 points and 1.2 rebounds.

Bradley Beal faces a late fitness test to determine if he’ll be available for the clash. Beal has been on and off the injury report.

The veteran guard underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee during the offseason and remains on a minutes restriction. He hasn’t played more than 22 minutes in a game this season.

And there’s better news for Jordan Miller, who has yet to make his season debut due to a left hamstring strain. Miller has been upgraded to questionable and could make his season debut off the bench.

What to Expect from the Clippers Against the Hawks

It’s hard to see where rock bottom might be, but the Clippers are almost there. They suffered their fourth straight loss on Sunday, falling 114-103 to the Phoenix Suns.

The Clippers’ struggles are paramount. They’re now in the bottom four of the Western Conference with a 3-6 start. For context, the Clippers’ net ranking is also among the worst, sitting 23rd at -5.4.

Coach Ty Lue has come under a lot of criticism but remains firm in turning the tides. Injuries to key players aren’t helping either. The only positive is that it’s still early in the season, with 72 games remaining. They need to get back in the win column as soon as possible, starting with Atlanta, who have won four of their past six games.
