Giants insider raises question on Jaxson Dart's future in New York amid franchise's turmoil: "Everything needs to be on the table"

The New York Giants are on pace for one of their worst seasons in franchise history as they hold a 2-12 record after losing eight consecutive games after Week 15.

One of the positives from the team's abysmal season is that the NFC East franchise could be landing the No. 1 pick for the 2026 NFL draft. Giants insider Evan Roberts raised questions on rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart's future if New York holds the No. 1 pick heading into next year's NFL draft.

Roberts urged an independent eye to decide on potentially drafting a quarterback that would compete with Dart for the starting role.

"The Giants may pick number one. It is absolutely on the table that they're gonna have the number one overall pick and you have an opinion about Jaxson Dart versus drafting a quarterback, I have an opinion on Jaxson Dart versus drafting a quarterback. But I would want the most independent eyes to make a decision that big, and I don't believe someone who's been here for a few years, including the person who drafted Jaxson Dart, can make that fair decision."

Roberts said that if the team drafts a quarterback in next year's draft but fails to deliver for a second consecutive season, the insider wants accountability from the management.

"If you're picking No. 1 overall and your team sucks yet again, everything needs to be on the table, and if everything's on the table, we need independent eyes to make as big a decision as trading the No. 1 overall pick or using it to select a quarterback and moving off of Jaxson Dart. This is one of the biggest decisions a franchise can make, and I need someone else to make the call."
