A Toxic Trail arrived in ARC Raiders alongside the recent Cold Snap update. You get this assignment from Shani, a trader in Speranza. It is a nice change of pace because you do not need to fight Arcs or hunt down specific items. The objective is purely investigative, so you can finish it quickly if you know where to go.

ARC Raiders: A Toxic Trail quest guide
The "A Toxic Trail" quest in ARC Raiders involves four objectives located in the Dam Battleground. Fortunately, this is generally the safest map in the game. You do not need to bring any special gear for this run, so feel free to use a Free Loadout to save resources.
Objectives overview:
- Return to the water intake below the Water Treatment Control building
- Search the swamp for traces of the barrel's origins
- Take a photo of the barrel truck
- Search the truck for clues about the saboteur's identity

How to complete the A Toxic Trail quest
1) Return to the water intake below the Water Treatment Control building
Location of the first objective (Image via Embark Studios || YouTube/Nickko Kimiko)Start by deploying into the Dam map and heading toward the Water Treatment Control POI. This is a low-risk area, so you should be safe. Instead of entering the main building, circle to the back on the north side. You will see a water intake area with a contaminated barrel floating in the water. Simply approaching the barrel triggers the first objective.
2) Search the swamp for traces of the barrel's origins
Location of the second objective (Image via Embark Studios || YouTube/Nickko Kimiko)From there, turn northwest and move forward until you find a stream. Follow the water while facing west, and you will spot a small truck. Getting close to this vehicle completes the second step.
3) Take a photo of the barrel truck
Once you are near the truck, position yourself either behind it or on its right side. A "Take photo" prompt will pop up on your screen. Press your interact button to snap the picture and check off the third requirement.
4)Search the truck for clues about the saboteur's identity
Finally, move over to the driver’s seat. You will see an option to "Investigate." Hit the interact button one last time to uncover the clues. This wraps up the final objective and marks the A Toxic Trail quest as complete.
