Giants get major update on potential Odell Beckham Jr. reunion

Odell Beckham Jr. continues to be linked to a reunion with the New York Giants

The 33-year-old was a fan-favorite contributor in New York during his five-year stint with the franchise, regularly providing New York with a much-needed offensive spark as a top receiving option.

After the 2018-19 campaign, though, the Giants traded Beckham to the Cleveland Browns, and his career hasn’t been the same since.

Is New York interested in bringing the Super Bowl champion wideout back to New York seven years later? And if so, is the organization close to completing a deal? Luckily for Giants fans, John Harbaugh has the answers to both of those questions.

“We worked him out,” Harbaugh said Saturday, according to the New York Daily News’ Pat Leonard. “He looked good. We just have to continue conversations. Talking with him Tuesday night. If we do anything, it has to make sense for the Giants. It has to make sense for him.”

“We’re not decided on that (signing him) yet. He’s not decided on that yet. Have to see where it is.”

Although the idea of reuniting with the former franchise-elevating asset is alluring, the Giants should avoid it at all costs. The LSU product hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2024, and given his decreased production with age, it wouldn’t make much sense for New York to sign him with more impactful free agents at that position on the market.

Of course, if the Giants feel comfortable adding Beckham’s ability to be a serviceable receiver in 2026-27, nothing will stop them from doing so. Still, there aren’t many pros to signing Beckham at this stage of his career, which should compel them to steer clear of the three-time Pro Bowler.
