Louisville Cardinals quarterback Miller Moss has identified a “culture” problem within the program, as the team lost to the Clemson Tigers on Friday. The Cardinals lost 20-19 to the Tigers after conceding multiple unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in the fourth quarter of the game.
In his interview with the press following the game, Moss attributed the penalties to team culture, which he claims will not be solved this season. He said:
“I get it. You’re competitive. It’s getting to the end of the game. You want to do everything you can to win the game. The ultimate competitors have the greatest amount of focus in those moments. … They’re able to kind of flatline and stay even-keeled. That’s obviously something that we have to work on. I don’t think something like that gets fixed week to week. It’s a cultural thing and an offseason thing that’s going to need to be addressed. It didn’t come down to any one penalty. We own this as a team, and we all have each other’s backs in doing that.”•

Miller Moss transferred to Louisville last offseason after four seasons at USC, where he lost his starting job to Jayden Maiava. In 10 games for the Cardinals this season, Moss has 2,344 yards, 11 yards, and seven interceptions.
Louisville is 7-3 after Friday’s loss to Clemson. With two regular-season games left for the Cardinals this season, the team is about to have an almost identical finish this season to last season.
Louisville will first face SMU next week for its conference finale. A rivalry game against Kentucky is next to wrap up the regular season for the Cardinals.
