Germaine Pratt's most logical landing spot after release from Bengals is obvious

The Cincinnati Bengals and linebacker Germaine Pratt are no more.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Bengals are releasing Pratt on Monday, ending his six-year tenure in Cincinnati following a down season.

Cutting the former playoff hero saves the Bengals $5.8 million but will cost $2.3 million in dead cap. It also leaves Cincy with a question mark at linebacker.

Now, Pratt will look for a new home in free agency, but that might not be easy given the fact that it's so late in the offseason and teams have spent the vast majority of available funds.

If we were to put our money on one landing spot for Pratt, it would be with the Indianapolis Colts.

After the Bengals fired him earlier this offseason, former defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo landed on his feet in the same role with Indy. That relationship could help attract Pratt to the AFC South squad.

"And, yes, Pratt to the Colts to reunite with Lou Anarumo would certainly be the most logical landing spot," The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr. wrote.

The Colts have a need at the position, also. The team lost E.J. Speed in free agency and did not add an adequate solution next to Zaire Franklin.

Pratt wouldn't offer the coverage specialist the Colts need, but he would be a strong veteran option to round out Indianapolis' linebackers room.
