Former Scottish Open champion Jeev Milkha Singh has ended his over-a-decade-long winless streak at the 2025 IGPL Invitational Sri Lanka event. The Indian golfer had a terrific outing, registering a one-stroke win at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. He was two strokes behind heading into the final, and then with an impressive 6-under round, he took the lead in the game.
The second-round leader, Aryan Roopa Anand, slipped down to second place after a round of 3-under. Karandeep Kochhar settled in third place, followed by SSP Chawrasia and Gaganjeet Bhullar.
Jeev Milkha Singh’s win came after 13 years. He last won a tournament on the DP World Tour back in 2012 at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open. Back then, he carded rounds of 66, 70, 68, and 67 to settle in a tie with Francesco Molinari and then defeated the Italian golfer in a playoff to claim his fourth European Tour event.
Singh had a phenomenal time in his career playing on the DP World Tour, where he won four tournaments. His first win came in 2006 at the Volvo China Open, and then he won the Volvo Masters. He also won the Bank Austria Golf Open in 2008 and then won his fourth title in 2012. He had six wins on the Asian Tour.

After the game, talking to the media, Singh said that he had “never played in Sri Lanka before” and that it was an “emotional moment" for him. He reflected on the emotional connection he had with the country.
“I had never played in Sri Lanka before," Singh said via Telegraph India)."It is an emotional moment for me. Because this is where my parents fell in love and began their relationship. My mother played volleyball and my father was here for athletics. So, this is where their journey together began,” said an emotional Jeev. “We lost them in 2021 and I lost my will to play but a little later in 2022 I decided I would play for them and win. I hope today’s win will put a smile on their faces," he added.The Former Scottish Open champion also expressed gratitude to the tournament officials.
“The Royal Colombo Golf Course was amazing and the whole team here did a great job and so did the IGPL team," he added.In his career, Jeev Milkha Singh also had a fabulous time on the Japan Golf Tour, where he won four events.
