Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher with 100 MPH fastball predicted to betray Los Angeles by signing with division rival

Former Los Angeles Dodgers flamethrower Michael Kopech remains on the free agency market and is one of the more intriguing arms available.

Kopech is a decent arm who could be used by many teams, including one of the Dodgers’ rivals, the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Arizona is a team with postseason hopes in the competitive National League.

However, the bullpen currently has some uncertainty due to injuries.

According to Chris Landers, the Diamondbacks could be a logical fit for Kopech as he looks for a situation where he could make an immediate impact. He could do this and hit the free agency market again next winter.

“The D-backs could certainly use one of those, especially with both A.J. Puk and Justin Martinez still rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. Arizona has the pieces in place to at least flirt with a Wild Card spot this season, but that will require some more firepower in a bullpen currently relying on the likes of Paul Sewald, Ryan Thompson and Kevin Ginkel.

“ If Kopech can't stay healthy or throw enough strikes, then so be it; but the upside here is considerable, and few relief pictures are more unsettled right now,” he wrote.

Kopech’s combination of velocity and strikeout stuff has always made him someone to watch out for. However, the idea of Kopech is probably better than Kopech the player.

If he can put that together, he’d become a valuable weapon in any bullpen in baseball.
