Former Jets and Ravens star looking for coaching gig with either team

Former NFL linebacker Bart Scott would love to be a coach with either one of his former teams.

According to Tony Pauline of Essentially Sports, Scott's agent has told the insider that his client would be open to taking on a coaching gig with the New York Jets, and Scott has said he's also interested in a gig with the Baltimore Ravens.

"Scott’s representative, Harold Lewis, told me the former Pro Bowl linebacker wants to get into coaching and help his former team, the New York Jets, turn the franchise around," Pauline said.

"Scott himself said that he would love to coach for the Jets or Ravens, and he’s eager to pass on his intellectual knowledge of the game to younger players," Pauline added.

Scott spent seven seasons with the Ravens, where he was voted to one Pro Bowl and earned one second-team All-Pro nod.

Scott then finished his career with the Jets, spending four seasons there.

Scott's most memorable moment came when he dropped the "can't wait!" line in 2011 after New York upset the New England Patriots in the divisional round.

While Scott doesn't have any coaching experience, he does have a wealth of knowledge as a former player who has been part of some really good defenses.

The Jets in particular could use all the help they can get, and if Scott is really open to helping out, head coach Aaron Glenn should strongly consider him and find a way to bring him in.

The Ravens could also benefit from having Scott around, although they aren't anywhere near as desperate as the Jets are for help.
