Celebrity Deaths: 2025’s Fallen Stars
Hollywood is mourning the loss of a ‘90s star.
Floyd Roger Myers Jr., a former child actor who appeared on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, died on Oct. 22, his mother Renee Trice confirmed to TMZ. He was 42.
Myers died after suffering a heart attack in his Maryland home, Trice told the outlet, adding she had last spoken to her son hours before his passing. She also shared that he experienced three heart attacks in the last three years.
During his acting career, Myers played the young version of Will Smith in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s third season in 1992. Later that year, he portrayed a young Marlon Jackson in ABC’s mini-series The Jacksons: An American Dream, which also starred Angela Bassett, Jason Weaver and Billy Dee Williams.
Myers’ last on-screen appearance was in a 2000 episode of The WB’s short-lived teen drama Young Americans.
In the years since he left the spotlight, the actor co-founded a nonprofit organization in Maryland called the Fellaship Men’s Group, which focuses on men’s mental health. Shortly after the announcement of Myers death, the group dedicated a heartfelt tribute to him.
“RIP to our good brother @rocwonder one of our co founders. Gone but never will be forgotten,” they wrote on Instagram, including a photo of Myers smiling with his children Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox. “The mission will continue in your honor. Next mens meeting will be one for the books like we talked about! Love you bro, rest easy, big bro will take it from here.”
Myers’ loved ones, including his younger sister Tyree, also honored his personal legacy in his GoFundMe page.
“He was a devoted father, loving brother, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and warmth touched everyone he met,” she wrote in the page’s description. “Roger leaves behind his four beautiful children — Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox — and our loving family is now facing the unimaginable loss of someone who meant everything to us.”
