Florida's 464-pound Desmond Watson chooses his NFL team as undrafted free agent

Desmond Watson has a chance to be the heaviest player to ever appear in an NFL game.

The Florida star is now one step closer. Following the NFL Draft, he signed Saturday evening as an undrafted free agent.

Watson isn't going far: He chose an UDFA contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The full measurables for Watson go 6-foot-6, 464 pounds.

He's been called the "Tush Push Terminator" for the hopes that he can stop the popular QB sneak-variation popularized by the Eagles.

“I’m ready for it,” Watson told The Athletic. “I am one of the best run-stoppers out there, and it’s not just because of what I am packing. There is some technique there, too.”

Watson is an incredible athlete for his size. At that Pro Day, he also ran the 40-yard dash in 5.93 seconds and vertical jumped 25 inches.

Watson told The Athletic that some NFL teams have given him a target weight, and he's trying to drop just a bit.

“He’s a unicorn,” Florida coach Billy Napier told reporters at the team’s pro day. “You’ll go the rest of your career, and you’ll never be around a guy that’s that stature.”

There's never been an NFL player like Watson, but that doesn't mean he can't make it.

In fact, the Buccaneers might give him all the chances in the world to make it just because he's so unique.

Football fans everywhere will be rooting for Watson. If he can make it onto an NFL field, it'll be an unprecedented day in the league's history. And if he terminates a frustrating tush push or two along the way, neutral fans won't have a problem with that at all.
