Final Fantasy XIV’s Heavensturm event is now available for a limited time, and is the equivalent of New Year’s Day/Lunar New Year. It’s a festive tradition, and like all holidays, like the recently completed Starlight Celebration is only going to be available for a limited time. However, this year they’re giving away a cute minion that you can get for free. All you have to do is take part, and complete the quest.
We’re here to make sure you know everything possible about the Heavensturm event for 2026 in Final Fantasy XIV. It all kicks off on December 31, 2025, and will run through January 15, 2025. It’s an easy event to complete, so here’s everything you’ll need to know.
How to complete Final Fantasy XIV’s Heavensturm 2026 event
Beginning on December 31, 2025, Final Fantasy XIV’s Heavensturm event will take place in Limsa Lominsa. It will run through January 15, 2026, at 6:59 PST. Unlike some other events, this one kicks off a bit later in the morning, at 7 am PST. Thankfully, you don’t even need to be in a combat class. As long as you’re level 15, and have access to Limsa Lominsa, you can take part.

- Speak to Uma Bugyo.
- Speak to Uma Yoriki.
- Speak with Uma-no-unicolt and have it accompany you.
- Spread the word of the Heavensturm festivities while the uma-no-unicolt is accompanying you.
- Keep spreading the word of the Heavensturm festivities while the uma-no-unicolt is accompanying you 0/2.
- Speak with the Uma Bugyo while the Uma-no-Unicolt is accompanying you.
Just head to Limsa Lominsa, Upper Decks (11.5, 13.9), and speak to the Uma Bugyo, and you’ll be able to start the quest Seize the Neigh. Uma Bugyo comes from Hingashi, and is on a mission to help build a friendship with Eorzea.
They will do this by sharing the Heavensturm customs, which are different than what is celebrated in this part of the world. Instead of honoring one of the Twelve deities to be “first”, they choose a celestial beast and honor it, instead.
As it is the Year of the Horse, this year, Final Fantasy XIV’s Heavensturm event is honoring the horse for this event. According to the lore, Uma Bugyo introduced the horse to Eorzea, who likely only had chocobos for mounts. Agree to help Uma Bugyo, and head to the quest marker just outside of the Drowning Wench to continue the quest.
It sure is a cute little Unicolt (Image via Square Enix)Watch the cutscene, where Uma Yoriki is trying to get an adorable little horse to come to him. It simply will not listen to him, so that’s where we, as Warriors of Light, come in. This horse, a Unicolt, is young and unruly.
During the cutscene, you’ll succeed in luring the small animal over, which impressed Uma Yoriki. Now, you need to take the Unicolt with you, as you’re now in charge of it. This means you’ll need to go speak with the Uma-no-Unicolt and have it accompany you.
Run inside and speak to the person with the quest marker, Quentenain. This will trigger another cutscene for the Heavensturm event in Final Fantasy XIV. You’ll get a few choices to make, and it’s likely that it doesn’t matter which you pick.
Just one more short quest to go (Image via Square Enix)We picked We can do this–together!, and it pranced around happily and neighed. Your next stop is going to be the Maelstrom Command Center, which isn’t a far jog from where you are. Speak to Trachraet to continue. After a short bit of dialogue, you’ll head north to the Culinarian’s Guild and speak to the Sated Citizen.
After the short chat, you can wrap this quest up by heading back to the Uma Bugyo with the Uma-no-Unicolt in tow. You’ll get another cutscene with the happy little horse, who seems to be far more outgoing than when the procession got to Eorzea. You’ll also get a neat lore dump, so enjoy that before completing the first Final Fantasy XIV Heavensturm 2026 event quest.
Steps to complete Majesty in Motion
- Speak to Uma Bugyo
- Seek out the Uma Yoriki outside the Zephyr Gate
- Speak with the Uma-no-Unicolt and follow its lead.
This will complete the quest but not the Heavensturm event in Final Fantasy XIV. You have one more quest to complete, and that’s Majesty in Motion. After another chat, you’ll be invited to the procession, so take the fast travel to the Zephyr Gate and speak to Uma Yoriki outside of Limsa Lominsa.
The Unicolt just wants to take part in the fun! (Image via Square Enix)You will receive another cutscene, and Uma Yoriki will be reunited with the horses they brought from the Far East. The young Unicolt will want to join the procession, and once again you’ll need to make a choice. We went with I’ll be there to watch over it, but I imagine either way it gets to attend the procession.
When you’re ready, speak with the Uma-no-Unicolt, and follow behind it. You don’t want to get too far behind, otherwise you’ll have to start over. When it gets to its destination, speak with it. After the people cheer, you can interact with it again and follow behind.
Once again, interact with it, to get people cheering the small animal on. The third destination will be where the bigger horses are. Enjoy the cute cutscene, and then you will get teleported back to Limsa Lominsa to wrap up Majesty in Motion. This will give you the Uma-no-Unicolt, and the Hitting Full Stride achievement for your Final Fantasy XIV character.
Don't forget to get your fortune read! (Image via Square Enix)You can also draw Omikuji from the nearby Far Eastern Omikujishi, where there are new fortunes available compared to last year. They cost 100 gil to draw, so they aren’t expensive. If you speak to the Far Eastern Merchant, you can purchase the new Gilded Screen for 6,000 gil. There’s also the Zoni food for 16 gil, and Magicked Prism (Advent Cakes) for 19 gil. This will wrap the Heavensturm event for 2026 in Final Fantasy XIV.
