It's Week 17 in the fantasy football world, which means it's championship week in many leagues. Some fantasy football managers are trying to win it all. Other managers are desperately clawing to avoid last place. For those and everyone in between, choosing the correct waiver wire running back could be the difference.

To help managers in need, Sportskeeda has compiled a list of running backs you should consider to help boost your squad entering one of the most important fantasy football moments of the year.

#4 - Ty Johnson, Buffalo Bills (1.4% rostered)

Ty Johnson hasn't been given a boost due to an injury to James Cook III or an altered strategy. Rather, Johnson has continued to find ways through limited touches to make fantasy football-worthy plays. Johnson has earned at least 7.6 points in half-PPR leagues in three games since Week 9. When it comes to desperation running backs, you could do worse than Johnson.

#3 - Isaiah Davis, New York Jets (3.3% rostered)

Isaiah Davis has earned 13.0 points and 8.0 points in each of his last two games, building some momentum heading into Week 17. If you need a back with upside, you could do worse than Davis, who continues to push Breece Hall for a running back competition in 2026.

#2 - Trayveon Williams, Cleveland Browns (0.1% rostered)

According to Adam Schefter in a Sunday X report, Quinshon Judkins suffered a leg injury that knocked him out of Sunday's contest against the Buffalo Bills. Assuming Judkins misses at least one week (and likely more), Trayveon Williams is a name to strongly consider. Dylan Sampson is also dealing with an injury, which opens the door for Williams in Week 17, assuming he misses the contest.

#1 - Jawhar Jordan, Houston Texans (5.2% rostered)

Woody Marks' health is a question going forward. As such, Jawhar Jordan is in line for a leading role in Week 17 at the moment. If you have a roster spot you can spare, Jordan could have significant carries against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 17. There's a lot of pressure on Los Angeles as the team chasing in the AFC West, and if the team crumbles, Jordan could end up picking up the pieces.
