Almost a full year ago, Vicente Conculini, Yamundu Martínez, and Miguel Silio put their bike kickstands up and pushed off the Argentinian ground. Almost 300 days and more than 10,000 miles later, they finally wheeled to a halt in Kansas City.
The trio began their trek to the site of Argentina's first game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on August 16, 2025, and arrived on June 2, 2026.
Cold-weather gear, warm-weather gear, water, everything they needed to survive was strapped to their bikes. Now, they get a much-needed rest until La Albiceleste kicks off against Algeria on June 16.
Here's the latest on the three fans who completed the 10,000-mile journey from Gualeguaychu, Argentina, to Kansas City.

Why did Argentina fans ride to Kansas City on bikes?
Vicente Conculini, Yamundu Martínez, and Miguel Silio started their journey from Gualeguaychú, Argentina, to embark on a trip to meet the Argentinian national soccer team in Kansas City for their first 2026 World Cup match.
They pedaled through 17 different countries, according to KSHB. Their only break during the trip came when the group had to fly over the Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama. The Darien Gap is a thick, jungle area between Colombia and Panama that is untraversable on a bike (or most vehicles, for that matter). The group was forced to fly on a plane over the border and restarted in Panama before continuing into Central America, per Yahoo Sports.
Here is the moment when the trio finally got to their end destination at the Argentine team's hotel in Kansas City. Other cyclists and spectators cheered for the trio as they finally ended their 10,000-mile and 300-day journey across continents.
“We don’t train like professional cyclists,” Vicente said, according to the Anchorage Daily News. “We just love traveling, we love soccer, and the bicycle became the perfect way to combine both.”
"The journey is hard. You go through cold, heat, and rain. And to find this reward at the end, honestly, it makes it all worthwhile — every single moment," Silio said in an interview with KSHB in Spanish.
How long did the bike trip from Argentina to Kansas City take?
The group first embarked on their multi-thousand-mile trek on August 16, 2025, according to The Kansas City Star.
Since they arrived in Kansas City, it had been 290 days and more than 10,000 miles traversed in the cold, hot, and a variety of other conditions.
What kind of bikes did the fans ride?
The trio rode Decathlon touring e-bikes throughout their journey. While they were not on old-fashioned, full pedaling models, the feat is still mightily impressive.
It's hard to imagine how uncomfortable the bike seats must have been 10,000 miles and nearly 300 days later.
When is Argentina's World Cup opener?
La Albiceleste begins its 2026 World Cup journey on Tuesday, June 16, against Algeria. They will play at 9 p.m. ET from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Kan.
The game will air on the Fox channel. This summer will be Argentina's 19th appearance at the FIFA World Cup, as they look to defend their 2022 title.
