Fan-favorite star suddenly drops a huge John Cena reference amid AEW absence

WWE star John Cena recently retired from active competition at Saturday Night's Main Event. Amidst his retirement, popular AEW star Dralístico referenced the star on his Instagram account.

The masked luchador has been away from the ring. He recently underwent surgery. The LFI star had picked up an ear injury during his last couple of matches. He had revealed that, although he wanted to continue competing in the ring, the doctors advised him to go into surgery for his condition. The star, in fact, recently shared an update on his Instagram account stating that he was going into surgery and asked fans to pray for him.

Dralístico reposted a story on his Instagram account. The picture was originally posted by former AEW manager José the Assistant. It was a picture of Toro Blanco Rush and Dralístico from back in December 2022. The star-studded lineup had just shown up for ROH Final Battle. The star used John Cena's trademark theme song for the Instagram story, and the caption stated, "Time flys by so fast."

WWE legend John Cena appeared for his first public interview post-retirement. He was the latest guest on Cody Rhodes' What Do You Want to Talk About? podcast.

The retired star spoke at length about his philosphy of the business, how his farewell tour panned out, and some stories from his time on the road.

Cena also thanked Rhodes for hosting him. He spoke about his respect for his fellow competitors like Cody Rhodes, Gunther, and CM Punk. He also took to Twitter to thank the American Nightmare and WWE for giving him a platform to tell his story.

Cena also hinted that some of his opinions may be polarizing and could spark some huge debates among the wrestling community.
