“Faking injury cuz they wasn’t gonna make playoffs”: NFL fans react as Patrick Mahomes injures left knee in 16-13 loss vs. Chargers

Patrick Mahomes is in unknown territory after nine seasons in the NFL. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback won't be part of the playoffs for the first time since he joined the team after the LA Chargers beat them 16-13 on Sunday.

Following a 20-10 loss to the Houston Texans last week, the Chiefs entered Week 15 with a lot at stake. They needed to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Chargers beat them for the second time this season and killed their chances to advance to the postseason.

Additionally, Patrick Mahomes suffered a left knee injury at the end of the fourth quarter.

Plenty of fans reacted to the sequence, with some claiming Mahomes was looking for excuses for the loss.

"faking a injury cuz they wasn’t gonna make the playoffs," one fan said. "Nah he a** just ain’t making the playoffs now. N***a get yo a** up, it ain’t even wet over there," another fan said. "An excuse. Now they have an excuse. Fake s**t," another fan said.

Others rejected the notion that Patrick Mahomes was faking and went after the people clowning the three-time Super Bowl champion.

"That's one of the worst things you can see in the NFL Allen, Lamar, or Patrick grabbing their knee like that," one fan said."People celebrating this are weird," another fan said."People making fun of him are soulless and heartless coming from a broncos fan," another fan said.
