Noah Schnapp recently sparked online buzz after a post circulating on X claimed that the actor was launching a Stranger Things rewatch podcast. The claim originated on January 2, when the X account DiscussingFish shared a post captioned:
“Noah Schnapp has announced that he is officially launching a ‘STRANGER THINGS’ rewatch Podcast. First episode releases on Spotify Monday, January 4.”The aforementioned post included a link to a Today article dated September 11, 2025. At first glance, the link appeared to support the claim. However, it redirected to an older, unrelated interview in which Schnapp made no mention of any podcast.
With no official confirmation from Netflix, Spotify, or Schnapp himself, and with the false link exposed, the claim was ultimately debunked.
The X page, DiscussingFish, was a parody account. It was loosely modeled after Discussing Film, a well-known and legitimate source for entertainment news. The misleading post, combined with the recycled link, led many to initially mistake the rumor for a verified update.

After years of internal struggle and quiet growth, Will was finally pushed out of his comfort zone in Episode 7, titled “The Bridge.” This Stranger Things episode then featured a heartfelt monologue in which he came out as gay to his family and closest friends.
The scene unfolded with actor Noah Schnapp sitting across from his best friend, Mike (Finn Wolfhard), his mother, Joyce (Winona Ryder), his brother, Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and others. For the first time, Will allowed himself to be fully vulnerable, clearly expressing his identity.
Rather than rejection or discomfort, the moment was met with unwavering support, as his loved ones reassured him that they would always stand by his side.
According to a Today report dated December 30, Schnapp reflected on filming that particular Stranger Things scene
“It was a lot of pressure. The whole cast being there, I did not expect the scene to happen that way. I thought it was just going to be me and Joyce, and that’s already nerve-wracking,” Noah Schnapp said.He further emphasized how overwhelming it felt to deliver such a personal performance with everyone watching.
“So to have everyone standing there watching was really nerve-wracking in a lot of different ways,” he added.Schnapp also acknowledged the years-long buildup leading to Will’s coming-out moment, explaining that he was constantly aware of how meaningful the scene would be for viewers who see themselves reflected in Will’s story.
“There’s been so much build up to this moment… It’s been built up in my head for years, like, how are they going to write it? Who are they going to write it to? Obviously in the back of your head you know the impact it’s going to have on a lot of people in the real world struggling with similar issues of their own self identity,” he explained.Noah Schnapp also shared that he had been able to offer feedback to the Stranger Things creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, as well as the writing team.
When asked about Will’s strongest source of support within the story, Schnapp pointed to Heaton’s character and his onscreen brother Jonathan. He described their bond as one built on quiet understanding and consistent loyalty.
He highlighted how Jonathan had always stood by Will’s side, never questioning him and always wanting what was best for his younger brother. Schnapp added that watching Jonathan react during the coming-out scene made him emotional.
Looking ahead to the Stranger Things finale, Episode 8, titled “The Rightside Up,” Schnapp suggested that Will emerged from his moment of self-acceptance stronger than ever. He explained that there was now nothing holding the character back.
At present, Noah Schnapp is busy with post-finale interviews for Stranger Things, reflecting on his time on the series while also looking ahead to opportunities beyond the Netflix hit.
