A former WWE superstar may not be welcomed back in AEW after they and their partner seemingly walked out of the promotion during last weekend's tapings. The stars in question, Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize, have already shared their account of their dealings with the Tony Khan-led company.
After making their on-screen All Elite Wrestling debuts during a backstage segment last month, Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize wrestled their first match for the promotion on the November 1 edition of Collision, unsuccessfully going up against Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne. They were set to compete in their second AEW match this past Saturday against Tay Melo and Anna Jay - however, news broke soon after that the duo had supposedly walked out of the company after refusing to lose the tag bout in question.
Subsequent reports clarified that Nixon and Miranda left last weekend's Collision tapings because they wanted their match to be longer, as opposed to wanting to win it. It was also noted that sources and talent in All Elite Wrestling were disappointed by how Newell and Alize had conducted themselves, leading to speculations regarding their future in the company vis-a-vis booking. Now, veteran journalist Dave Meltzer has commented on the topic on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
He revealed that even though the erstwhile Tegan Nox has claimed that she and Alize did not leave with any bad blood between them and AEW, their actions may have ensured that the two will very likely not be featured by the company again anytime soon.
"Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize were told it was going to be a three-minute match, and they were not happy that the last match they did was three minutes. They wouldn’t do another one, and they left. Now, they did a taping, and I don’t know what exactly they said, but apparently, it was negative towards AEW, and another one that was less negative. And they said, ‘Well, we did not leave on bad terms or anything,'” Dave Meltzer said. “All I know is, I don’t expect these two to be booked in AEW.” [H/T - ITR Wrestling]

Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize recently addressed their dealings with All Elite Wrestling on a Twitch stream. The Girl with The Shiniest Wizard elaborated on their experiences with the company, and shared their perspective on wanting their second match to be longer and more substantial. She stated:
"We decided collectively as a partnership, a couple, a tag, as wrestlers independently, that three minutes is going to benefit no one in this match. It won’t make anyone look good... We said, ‘We really appreciate it.’ We were polite, we were respectful, we called our producer over and said, ‘I don’t think three minutes is going to benefit either of us. Not just us, but anyone in the tag team. We want what’s best for everyone. Respectfully, we deserve this to go to someone it can benefit.’ It went to the other two females, fair to them. There was never bad blood. We spoke to everyone involved." - said Newell. [H/T - Fightful]It remains to be seen what lies next on Newell and Alize's pro-wrestling journey.
