Ex-Warriors Star Goes Viral for Reaction to Suns–Pelicans Fight

The Golden State Warriors have been one of the most memorable teams in this era of basketball.

Winning a handful of championships and employing some of the biggest stars in the game will do that. However, they had a viral moment just a few years back due to an infamous moment.

Golden State star Draymond Green had a physical altercation with Jordan Poole during a practice. The footage of the scene was later released, and it’s still a talking point in 2025-2026, despite Poole’s Warriors era being in the rearview.

On Saturday night, the scene was brought up again, as Poole’s reaction to a fight between the Phoenix Suns and the New Orleans Pelicans went viral.

What Happened Between the Suns and the Warriors?

During the third quarter, New Orleans guard Jose Alvarado and Phoenix forward Mark Williams got physical. Both players threw punches as teammates from both sides rushed to break it up.

As expected, both players were ejected from the game. The NBA will have to decide if a punishment is necessary.

Why Is Jordan Poole Trending?

Poole, up close to the action, had a reaction worth talking about, even without the Warriors incident from his past. NBA fans couldn’t help but bring it up, though.

Poole’s Warriors days are well behind him at this point. While the indecent led many to believe he would quickly be on his way out of Golden State, Poole finished the 2022-2023 season with the Warriors.

Although Poole and the Warriors were working on another championship run, they were eliminated from the playoffs much earlier than expected. Poole had a stellar year, averaging 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.7 rebounds.

After his Warriors tenure ended in 2023 via trade, Poole ended up on the Washington Wizards. He spent the past two seasons playing for the Wizards before getting dealt to the New Orleans Pelicans back in July.

Heading into Saturday’s action, Poole had been averaging 17.2 points (37 percent from the field, 28 percent from three), 3.5 assists, and 1.9 rebounds.

The Pelicans lost to the Suns 123-114. New Orleans dropped to 8-25 on the year. They are slated for a Monday night matchup against the New York Knicks on Monday, December 29.
