Former Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert is not satisfied with Matt LaFleur's play-calling. On Sunday, they suffered a humiliating 16-13 loss at home at the hands of the Carolina Panthers.

After the game, Benkert doubled down on a tweet he shared on Oct. 20 talking about how the team should not give Matt LaFleur any play-calling duties on the field.

"I still stand by this," Benkert tweeted.

The Packers took the lead on Sunday after Brandon McManus scored a 49-yard field goal in the second quarter. However, RB Rico Dowdle's rushing touchdown and Ryan Fitzgerald's extra point conversion gave the Panthers a 3-7 lead. McManus scored another 27-yard field goal to minimize the deficit to 6-7 before the halftime whistle.

In the third quarter of the game, Rico Dowdle scored another rushing touchdown for the Panthers. However, Packers RB Josh Jacobs' fourth-quarter TD gave his team a fighting chance. Brandon McManus' extra point conversion leveled the playing field. Unfortunately, Ryan Fitzgerald scored a 49-yard field goal to seal the win for his team.

Following this loss, Matt LaFleur and his team are now 5-2-1 this season. Quarterback Jordan Love completed 26 of 37 passes for 273 yards and one interception against the Panthers.

The Packers coach made some questionable play-calling decisions on Sunday against the Panthers. One example was the RB screen call on a third-and-three play inside the goal line.

Matt LaFleur took over as the head coach of the Packers in January 2019. Since then, he's led the team to five playoff appearances but has failed to make a Super Bowl appearance.

Last season, they finished with an 11-6 record and qualified for the playoffs. Unfortunately, their hopes of a Super Bowl run came to an end at the hands of the Eagles in the wild-card round.

Matt LaFleur takes responsibility for the disappointing loss to the Panthers

In the post-game press conference, the Packers coach praised the Panthers for their performance on the field. He also highlighted the mistakes his team made on the field, which resulted in this loss at Lambeau Field.

"You know, give credit to Carolina," LaFleur said. "They played the game that, they had a plan in order to beat us in regards to trying to run the football consistently throughout the course of the game and just make us dink and dunk the ball down the field, which we were able to move the ball. "And then, played good defense in the red zone. We had the two turnovers, missed a field goal. So, we did enough things just, you know, we deservedly got our a** beat."

The Packers will next take on the Super Bowl LIX champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, next Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
