A North Carolina woman at the center of a twisted love-triangle slaying at a Long Island yacht club was hit with a seven-year prison sentence — one day after her new squeeze got 25 years in the slammer.
Kacy Corso, 34, a former DoorDash and Uber driver, pleaded guilty in July to ambushing her former fling, Christopher Millwater, on Nov. 10 at the swanky Stony Brook Yacht Club, where her boyfriend, Victor Panebianco, plunged a knife into the victim’s heart.
A contrite Corso, who was offered a reduced charge for cooperating with prosecutors, apologized to Millwater’s family in Suffolk County court on Wednesday before receiving the sentence, according to Newsday.
“It should have never happened,” she told Supreme Court Justice Timothy Mazzei, the outlet reported.
Prosecutors said Millwater, 52, arrived at the yacht club, where he liked to fish, around 3:40 a.m. on the day he was killed, with Panebiano, 32, and Corso already laying in wait in the parking lot.
Millwater tried to make a run for it, driving around the killers’ car to make for the exit, but the killer pair crashed into him and forced him to try to flee on foot, prosecutors said.
Surveillance footage showed Panebianco giving chase “while swinging a knife” and eventually catching up to Millwater and plunging the knife into his chest twice, prosecutors said.
Millwater’s chilling last words were, “You’re stabbing me?“
Police responded to a 911 call at the club and found Millwater’s body, while Panbianco and Corso drove back to their apartment in North Carolina, where they were later picked up by the Stokes County sheriff.
Corso had a fling with Millwater but grew increasingly hostile after they split, at one point calling him a “grave robber” in an unhinged social-media post, while Millwater took to Facebook with some macabre posts just days before he was killed.
The spat eventually turned deadly at the Stony Brook yacht club.
Panebianco pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter charges in the slaying last month and was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Tuesday.
