Alonso had hinted at massive rotation ahead of the Elche clash, pointing at the fixture list. He said in his press conference that they have key matches coming up and said (via Madrid Universal):

“Everyone has arrived in good shape and with good energy. We have a demanding match tomorrow. Everything remains the same. There are all kinds of moments, and we’re eager to look ahead. We have important matches in La Liga and the Champions League. The energy is good, and we need everyone.”

Vinicius Jr starts on the bench once again, with Edouardo Vamavinga, who had returned from the international break with an injury issue. Federico Valverde is rested, while Ferland Mendy also makes the bench.

Xabi Alonso ready to step up and deliver for Real Madrid ion tough period

Xabi Alonso has admitted that he understands the pressure of managing Real Madrid. He wants the players to focus on the games and not let the opponent's fans get on their nerves during the matches and said:

“We know where we are and we know the demands of Real Madrid. We’re taking it in stride, maintaining the high standards we set for ourselves. There’s no need to make a bigger deal out of it. It doesn’t affect us. It is what it is. We have to prepare for it and we can’t change it. We know the conditions of playing away from home. You play with a hostile atmosphere but the game is the same.”

Talking about the fitness of his players, he added:

“I don’t link the team’s current form to their physical condition. We’re preparing, and now we’re entering a demanding phase. There are many matches in a short period, and everyone needs to feel ready to play. We have to live with injuries.”

Real Madrid have four away matches in all competitions coming up, starting with today's clash against Elche.
