Even in cancer battle, John Mara couldn’t leave this Giants moment to anyone else

The interview was about to start.

The most important interview for the Giants in decades, and John Mara knew it.

He is battling cancer, and it has been hard on his body and mind, as those treatments are wont to be. Mara this past Wednesday dispatched his assistant to pick up coffee for himself, John Harbaugh and a few others. Mara presented the beverage to one of the most coveted head coach candidates to hit the open market.

“You know,” Mara said, “we don’t do this for everyone.”
