ESPN's Giants trade rumor could lead to deals with Saints, Raiders, Browns or Dolphins

The New York Giants are reportedly in the market for wide receiver and running back help ahead of the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline.

That rumor comes from ESPN's Dan Graziano, who notes that the Giants want to add more pieces around rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart in the wake of the season-ending injuries to wide receiver Malik Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo.

"And the Giants, at 2-6, don't look like a team that should trade away picks for players in win-now moves," Graziano said. "But with Malik Nabers (knee) and Cam Skattebo (tibia/ankle) suffering season-ending injuries, the Giants are inquiring about wide receivers and running backs to make sure they have enough offensive playmakers to keep rookie QB Jaxson Dart on a strong developmental track."

On the surface, the Giants don't look like a team that should be buying. However, the development of Dart is paramount for the future of the franchise and there's no question he needs more help with Skattebo and Nabers sidelined.

Four teams to keep an eye on when it comes to potential trade partners for the Giants are the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders and Cleveland Browns.

Graziano believes that Browns running back Jerome Ford and Dolphins rusher Jaylen Wright are likely to be available. Ford is the better option there, but both players are good, low-cost options for New York.

He also mentions Tennessee Titans rusher Tony Pollard and Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard, but projects both as unlikely to be moved with Tennessee looking keen on keeping Pollard, and because of Hubbard's contract.

When it comes to wide receivers, the Saints' Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, the Raiders' Jakobi Meyers and the Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle have all been mentioned in rumors, although reports suggest the asking prices are high for all four.

Meyers and Shaheed appear to be the most likely ones to be moved, as Miami wants a huge return for Waddle and Olave could be extended rather than traded.

The Giants will have until 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday to make a move.
