Businessman and entrepreneur Elon Musk recently shared his views on gravity’s role in the simulation hypothesis. On Sunday, November 2, 2025, the 54-year-old Tesla leader shared his reaction to reports claiming that gravity may be “key evidence” that we are living in a simulation.
After X user, Peter Diamandis, shared an image of an article by Popular Mechanics with the title, “Gravity may be key evidence that our universe is a simulation, groundbreaking new research suggests,” writing:
“YES, obviously, we are living in a simulation, but what will you differently now that you know that???”Elon Musk appeared to take a jab at the idea and quipped:
“Maybe have more pool parties.”Meanwhile, Elon Musk also further replied to his own tweet, adding:
“My pool parties per year number is ~0.3, which is probably too low.”Notably, in an article published on May 23, 2025, Popular Mechanics cited physicist Melvin Vopson’s study of his findings that gravity is a product of computational processes within the Universe. The PhD physicist at the University of Portsmouth in the U.K. has reportedly signalled the affirmation in a paper that he published in AIP Advances in April.
“My findings in this study fit with the thought that the Universe might work like a giant computer, or our reality is a simulated construct,” Melvin Vopson said.Claiming that gravitational force effectively reduces information entropy, which is a measure of disorder in an isolated system and tries to keep information and matter neatly organized in space and time, Melvin Vopson alleged in his findings:
“Just like computers try to save space and run more efficiently, the Universe might be doing the same. It’s a new way to think about gravity – not just as a pull, but as something that happens when the Universe is trying to stay organized.”Elon Musk weighs in on comet 3I/ATLAS “alien” theory

According to The New York Post, Elon Musk, during his recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, seemingly agreed that the comet could be “aliens.”
While the unusual maneuvering of the Manhattan-sized comet led some to believe that 3I/ATLAS could be an extraterrestrial spacecraft, Elon raised the possibility of aliens, adding, “something beyond gravity is affecting the comet’s trajectory.”
After it was reported that the comet was going to reach its closest approach to the Sun last Thursday, Elon Musk noted that its massive size and composition of nickel could potentially “obliterate a continent…maybe worse”. When Joe Rogan suggested:
“It’s a real problem if it hits… probably kill most of human life.”Elon explained:
“It depends on what the total mass is… The thing is, in the fossil record, there’s arguably five major extinction events, like the biggest one of which is the Permian extinction, where almost all life was eliminated, that actually occurred over several million years.”For the unversed, NASA has reportedly reassured that 3I/ATLAS would only be passing within 170 million miles of Earth. It means that, even at its closest point, the comet would not pose any threat to our planet.
