How many gold medals does Eileen Gu have?

Gu has two gold medals in her collection, collecting the prizes during her Winter Olympics debut in 2022. The then-19-year-old put forth an impressive display in front of Chinese faithful, besting all comers in the first-ever big air freestyle skiing event to kick off her Olympic career. During her run, Gu became the second woman to ever land a double cork 1620, joining French star Tess Ledeux, who accomplished the feat during the 2022 X Games. Gu is the first woman to ever land a left-turn version of the trick.

Two events later, Gu returned to the top of podium, capturing gold in the freeski halfpipe competition.

Eileen Gu Olympic events

Slopestyle

Gu has proven herself to be a slopestyle savant since her professional debut in 2021. She earned a gold medal on the apparatus during the 2021 X Games and 2021 World Championships. Gu skied to silver in the competition during the 2022 Winter Olympics, falling less than 0.4 points short of gold medalist Mathilde Gremaud.

Gu added to her tally in the event during the 2026 Games, once again surrendering gold to Gremaud. The margin of defeat was similarly small this time around; Gu's 86.58 was 0.38 short of Gremaud's gold medal-setting pace.

Halfpipe

Gu has found plenty of joy on the halfpipe across her glittering career. In 2022, she was awarded gold in the event, defeating Canadian Cassie Sharpe by a margin of nearly five points.

It was a dominant display for the then-teenager, who also won gold in the event one year earlier, during the 2021 World Championships. Injuries and school have prevented her from continuing her winning run in the event alive in recent years, although she'll look to return to the top of the podium on the apparatus during the 2026 Games.

Big Air

Gu is perhaps best known for her exploits on big air. She starred on the apparatus during the 2022 Games, posting a gold-medal-winning 188.25 mark.

Gu took a four-year hiatus from the competition after sustaining a series of injuries. She returned to the slope during the 2026 Winter Games and performed admirably, capturing silver with a 179.00 tally — 1.75 points short of first-place Megan Oldham.

How old is Eileen Gu?

Gu is 22 years old. She'll turn 23 on Sept. 3.

With her gold medals at the 2022 Winter Olympics, Gu became the youngest freestyle skiing champion in Olympic history. She is also the lone freestyle skier to claim three medals in a single Olympics.

Where is Eileen Gu from?

Gu hails from San Francisco. She's a second-generation Chinese-American, raised as a single daughter to a Chinese-American immigrant mother who moved to the U.S. to attend Stanford -- the same school Gu currently attends.
