The Philadelphia Eagles continue to receive trade interest from multiple teams on wide receiver A.J. Brown, and the Los Angeles Rams are the latest franchise keeping an eye on the standout playmaker's status.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Rams considered trading for Brown but instead acquired cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, Los Angeles is still monitoring Brown's availability, making a deal still possible.
"A.J. Brown trade discussions are not dead," Russini said. "Last week, I was told the Rams discussed trading for Eagles WR A.J. Brown before dealing for CB Trent McDuffie. Dialogue slowed, but Los Angeles continues to monitor the status of the three-time Pro Bowler with interest. We’ll see where both parties go from here."
The Rams don't have a pressing need at receiver, as Puka Nacua and Davante Adams are one of the best pass-catching duos in the league for quarterback Matthew Stafford.
However, if Los Angeles wants to make a splash move at the position, trading for Brown would be the answer. The 28-year-old would be an electric fit in Sean McVay's offense, and would elevate the Rams into the possible NFC favorites.
Los Angeles still has a first-round pick in April's draft, slotted at No. 13. That could be used in a potential deal for Brown, but it remains to be seen whether general manager Les Snead wants to give up more draft capital after giving up a first-round pick and more for McDuffie.
