The Dallas Cowboys are ensuring their tight end depth chart is full and ready for the season ahead.
They did that by signing a familiar face to a free agent contract on Friday.
The signing: Princeton Fant, according to DallasCowboys.com.
Fant has spent his entire NFL career under contract with the Cowboys.
He was originally an undrafted free agent in 2023, and he's mostly been a practice squad player.
Fant, out of Tennessee, just turned 27 and is 6-foot-2 and 235 pounds.
He has made it into 11 NFL games, mostly on special teams.
The Cowboys have a decent amount of TE depth, which makes a breakthrough for Fant a tough one. When everyone is healthy, Dallas has Jake Ferguson, Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford all ahead of Fant on the depth chart.

He played eight games in 2024, which was his most action. Despite that, he only has 14 career snaps on offense.
According to Cowboys Wire, Fant has been nicknamed "Bull" by Cowboys tight ends coach Lunda Wells.
That's a cool nickname. Now he'll try to put it to use and power his way into a bigger role for the season ahead.
