Eagles' Super Bowl champion retires from NFL after 7 seasons

One of the Philadelphia Eagles' most recent Super Bowl champions has chosen to retire from the NFL.

Parris Campbell, the shifty wide receiver, officially joined the ranks of the retired on Wednesday.

The Dallas Cowboys placed Campbell on the reserve/retired list to officially bring his career to a close at age 28 after seven NFL seasons.

Campbell's lone season with the Eagles was the 2024 regular season, when he caught six passes for 30 yards, and then he played in all three playoff games without catching a pass en route to earning a Super Bowl ring.

Campbell spent the 2025 season on the Dallas practice squad and made it into one regular season game. He remained with the Cowboys this offseason before evidently deciding that it was time to end his career.

He was originally a second-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts (59th overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. He had previously starred at OSU and in high school at LeBron James' alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron, Ohio.

Campbell struggled through three quiet seasons to begin his Colts career as persistent injuries prevented him from reaching his full potential. From 2019 through 2021, he had 34 catches in 15 games.

He broke out in 2022 as he didn't miss a single game and caught 63 passes for 623 yards and three touchdowns.

Campbell then joined the New York Giants for 2023 and made 20 catches for 104 yards there.

That brought him on an NFC East swing through Philly and Dallas to close out his NFL journey.

Campbell finished his NFL career with 123 catches for 1,117 yards in 50 games.

He didn't grow fully into the player some expected, but he'll always have that Super Bowl ring.
