Eagles' secret recipe is for Jalen Hurts to do almost nothing as a passer

The Philadelphia Eagles have the weirdest trend line through their season.

After Sunday's win over the Buffalo Bills, they're now 9-0 when Jalen Hurts throws for fewer than 200 yards.

"Philadelphia improved to 9-0 this season when Hurts throws for fewer than 200 yards," ESPN's Tim McManus writes. "He ended 13-of-27 for 110 yards with a touchdown and zero interceptions. Hurts was limited to just 5 yards on three carries as well."

To be fair in this case, Sunday's game was bizarre. The Bills couldn't get anything going in terrible weather conditions against a good Philly defense.

But it's crazy that in all the games Hurts either hasn't thrown well or hasn't had to throw much, the Eagles haven't lost.

It's not even happening in a historic rushing season like the one Saquon Barkley had a season ago, either. The Eagles are worse at the tush push this season, too.

Somehow, they just find a way. When the Eagles get into a gritty, grind-it-out contest, they end up on top.

Also, for the other side of the math here: The Eagles are 2-5 when Hurts does throw for at least 200 yards.

Hurts isn't the league's best QB, but he's also not bad. And he's got great pass catchers to throw to.

Everything about this trend is just a little bit goofy, but it keeps happening.
