The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly have much to be excited about entering the NFL Draft.
According to NFL analyst Ollie Connolly, the Eagles are closing in on a trade for a 28-year-old Minnesota Vikings star defender.
“Alright, Philly’s on the clock here, and you’re saying they’re getting Jonathan Greenard, huh,” Audibles & Analytics Podcast Network host Jon Ledyard asked Connolly on Wednesday. “Is this breaking news, or is this out there?”
“I assume it’s out there, right,” Connolly said before Ledyard responded by stating ‘I don’t think so, Ollie.”
If Connolly’s leaked report holds merit, the Eagles should expect to acquire the 2024 Pro Bowler soon. Greenard likely wants to forget about his recent NFL campaign, as he wasn’t the same player he was during the 2023-24 and 2025 seasons (he recorded 52 tackles, 12.5 sacks, and one forced fumble with the Texans in 2023-24, and 59 tackles, 12 sacks, and four forced fumbles with the Vikings the following season).
Still, many are confident that the fundamentally sound and versatile edge rusher will return to his dominant ways in 2026-27. Greenard is among the hottest commodities on the offseason trade market and has previously been linked to the Eagles.
While a deal between Philadelphia and Minnesota has to be officially announced, it sounds as though it’s only a matter of time before ESPN’s Adam Schefter reveals the details of the potential trade on social media.
