The Philadelphia Eagles and tight end Dallas Goedert are still trying to hash out a new deal.
According to Zach Berman of The Athletic, the Eagles have pushed back the void date on his contract to Monday. Goedert's deal was set to void on Friday, but Philadelphia decided to delay it till the start of the workweek.
"The Eagles and Dallas Goedert have pushed the void date on his contract back to Monday, league sources told The Athletic," Berman said. "They had previously set a deadline for this afternoon."
Goedert has yet to hit unrestricted free agency as the Eagles look to sign the veteran tight end to an extension.
The 31-year-old had a career-high 11 touchdowns in 2025 and will receive interest from multiple teams if he hits the market.
However, Philadelphia wants to keep him around and is buying time by pushing his void date back, which isn't a great development for the Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, and Miami Dolphins.
All four teams could sign Goedert to upgrade their tight end rooms, but have yet to receive the opportunity to even negotiate with him. Seattle, New England, and Denver are three Super Bowl contenders whose offenses could be taken to the next level with the addition of Goedert, while Miami has a glaring need at the position, with Greg Dulcich currently slated to be the starter.
We'll see what happens to Goedert as his void date is now set for Monday. There's a chance he hits the market, but with the Eagles having a few more days to figure out an extension with the veteran, there's also a strong possibility the South Dakota State product stays in Philadelphia and avoids free agency.
