With the recent expansion of the College Football Playoff tournament, the NFL can justify some scheduling overlap late in the season, especially in prime-time spots around the holidays.
How about a five-game, early Christmas slate on a Saturday featuring a rematch of the NFC Championship Game?
On Monday, the NFL announced a FOX doubleheader on Dec. 20 that will feature the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles at the Washington Commanders, as well as an NFC North showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

The start times for the two Saturday games are still to be announced, and they’ll be part of a mega slate that day with a triple-header of CFP national quarterfinal games.
The NFL and Amazon Prime also announced its Christmas Day night game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday.
Leaks from the NFL’s 18-week, 272-game schedule continue to trickle out, and the Eagles can also start planning for a Week 1 home matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, and a Black Friday showdown with the Chicago Bears, also at the Linc.

Washington, meanwhile, has a Week 11 trip abroad to Madrid, Spain, to face the Miami Dolphins on Nov. 16.
The NFL will announce the full 2025 schedule in totality on Wednesday night.
