Dancing With the Stars' Elaine Hendrix Speaks Out on Hospitalization, Missing Halloween Episode
Elaine Hendrix is ready to dance again.
After suffering a rib injury that left her hospitalized and missing Dancing With the Stars’ Oct. 28 Halloween Night, the Superstar actress is offering an update on her health.
“I’m doing okay,” Elaine said in an Oct. 29 Instagram video alongside her partner Alan Bersten. “I am up and about. I’m tender, I am sore, but I am starting pain management today.”
The Parent Trap actress shared that she isn’t returning to the dance floor for two more days, however, she’ll be ready to dance by the next live show.
Alan and Elaine were also grateful for the fans who still voted to keep them in the competition, despite only seeing a portion of their Argentine tango to George Thorogood & The Destroyers' song "Bad to the Bone” via rehearsal footage.
“We just want to say thank you so much for voting for us and showing so much love to Elaine and support,” the dance pro said. “We can feel it, and we appreciate it so much.”
As for Elaine—who along with the video offered some BTS of her Mad Max: Fury Road themed costume, hair and makeup—the heartfelt words from viewers have motivated her more.
“All of your messages. I’m seeing it all,” the 54-year-old said. “And I just want you to know first and foremost, I’m okay and second of all, I’m ready to go. Just thank you so much for all the love and support that you’re showing. And thank you to the entire Dancing With the Stars team for taking such good care of me.”
She added, “So, we will see you next Tuesday out on the ballroom.”

Just hours before she was set to take the stage, Elaine shared she was hospitalized amid a prior injury that flared up.
"I injured my ribs during 'Defying Gravity' and today they just seized up," Elaine shared in a video posted to her Instagram. "I couldn't move. They brought me to the hospital."
"The doctor has said that with a day or two of rest, I should be able to continue and that's exactly what I want to do," Elaine continued. "I want to dance, I want to keep doing this."
Despite not taking the dance floor, Elaine and Alan scored a total of 32 from judges Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and guest judge Cheryl Burke. After offering her score, Carrie Ann expressed how excited she is to see the Dynasty actress dance again.
“I am broken-hearted truly for you, Alan and Elaine,” Carrie Ann said. “After last week's success, that momentum would have taken her to another level. Already I was like, ‘Damn, girl,’ watching that rehearsal. That is amazing.”
“She was looking hot and sexy, and the chemistry was so real and passionate,” Carrie Ann continued. “She's so strong, and she's such a warrior.”
